Physics Professor Rainer Weiss Calidates Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity Wins Major Awards

Rainer Weiss, emeritus professor of physics, is the recipient of the Kavli Prize in Astrophysics. The Kavli Prizes are awarded biennially in recognition of scientists who have made seminal advances in three categories: astrophysics and nanoscience and neuroscience. He has also been awarded the Shaw Prize in Astronomy, awarded in three categories; astronomy, life science and medicine and mathematical sciences.
